Help using Your Defra account
How to sign in or register for Defra online services
To register for a Defra online service for the first time, you need to create a Defra account. Your Defra account lets you register with a range of online services from Defra as well as related organisations.
You can sign in to create your Defra account using one of the following methods. Once you sign in, we'll ask for some information about you and, if relevant, the organisation you are registering for.
GOV.UK One Login
Sign in using your GOV.UK One Login email address and password.
You may already have a GOV.UK One Login if you've used other GOV.UK services. If you do not have one, you'll be guided through creating an account.
Government Gateway
Sign in using your own Government Gateway user ID and password.
You may already have an account if you've used other GOV.UK services, such as HMRC or childcare services. If you do not have your own Government Gateway account, we'll help you to create one.
Trusted Third Party (TTP)
Sign in using your organisation email address and one-time passcode (OTP).
You may already have an account if you have previously been invited to register as a Trusted Third Party.
What you will need:
To create your Defra account, you'll need your email address, phone number and postal address.
Before you start
If you're registering on behalf of a business or organisation, you'll also need:
- the main contact details for your business or organisation (for example, head office contact details)
- the Companies House number if the business or organisation is a limited company
